Personal Space Bubble

2023 Installation & Sculpture

Personal Space Bubble
was created to represent the disconnection I often feel to my surroundings, due to suppressing my autistic traits, or masking, in order to feel socially accepted. The room within a room is meant to become a safe space, allowing me to unmask and decompress, but the more I stand there, the more I realize my inability to hide who I am.

This installation is meant to provide viewers with a better understanding of how it feels to hide parts of one’s identity, while in return, making them more accepting of people’s differences.
